BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. (AP) — Scout Motors celebrated the start of construction on its $2 billion electric SUV plant in South Carolina on Thursday not with a line of people in suits with shovels but with a nod to the company's gasoline-powered past. People are leaving the Rust Belt and the snow and want to come here where there's economic freedom,” Republican South Carolina Gov. Scout Motors made gasoline-powered vehicles for about 20 years when it was owned by International Harvester. The Volkswagen-owned Scout Motors enters a growing, but uncertain U.S. market. But you have to plan without those things,” Scout Motors CEO Scott Keogh said.

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — When New England takes on Indianapolis in Germany on Sunday, it may feel like a home game for the Patriots. The Patriots are competing with the Kansas City Chiefs to be the most popular team in Germany, thanks in part to Vollmer's legacy. The offensive tackle from Duesseldorf, became a figurehead in the 2010s for a growing German audience keen to see a German player succeed in the NFL. Vollmer spent all of his eight-year NFL career with the Patriots, winning the Super Bowl after the 2014 season. Seabass we drafted, he had a great career with us, and Jakob came as an international player and developed into a solid NFL player.

Stephanie Vollmer moved to Germany from South Korea about 18 months ago. I was teaching English in South Korea when I met my now-husband in 2021. In the US and South Korea, I was used to people being friendly toward visitors trying to learn the language. Coming from the US and South Korea, where same-day or next-day delivery is more common, this has been an adjustment. When I lived in South Korea, I was much closer to my dad and my stepmom, who lived in the Philippines.

Lawsuits against real estate professionals increased 9% between 2021 and 2022 as home prices declined. Zach Vollmer, SVP of Real Estate at Victor Insurance Managers, expects the total to increase in 2023. Vollmer added that lawsuits targeting real estate professionals are common when home prices fall. The increasing frequency of lawsuits coincides with a slew of predictions from real estate experts who expect home prices to continue to decrease in 2023. In most cases, Vollmer said the lawsuits contain allegations that seek to trigger reimbursements under a real estate professional's liability insurance policy.
But he was also among the first to debunk it. Others were not so scrupulous, according to this “American Experience” presentation, which pegs the phenomenon of the polygraph (once a brand name, now generic) as particularly American. “The lie detector persists, even though we understand it’s not necessarily accurate, because of the uniquely American confidence in technology,” says historian Douglas Flowe . The device, he says, provides “in our imagination” control over that which can’t be controlled, thus providing an illusion of certainty. “Americans are looking for certainty.”
WOLFSBURG, Oct 11 (Reuters) - Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) is looking at automating 20-30% of production at its upcoming Trinity plant near its Wolfsburg headquarters, the plant's chief production officer said on Tuesday. "Assembly is still 90% manual work," Sebastian Schmickartz said at a suppliers summit in Wolfsburg. The Trinity plant, where the German carmaker will build a new flagship electric sedan, is due to begin pre-series production in 2025, with the official start of production in 2026. Volkswagen brand production chief Christian Vollmer told Reuters earlier this year the carmaker hoped this production strategy would help boost its productivity and keep its upper hand in the European market.
